Mitch Robins Wins Holten ITU Premium Cup in the Netherlands

I'm very happy to be back in the land of the living after a very busy and sleepless weekend in Holland. It ended up being a successful weekend for myself, crossing the line first and running better then I ever have, a good sign that my injured groin is now a thing of the past.

Eveleigh WINS, Lampre 2nd Challenge Half Ironman

Man what a big day. Bec Eveleigh started the trend with a massive debut win in the Half Ironman, she tore the feild to pieces on the bike and then nailed the coffin shut hard during the run. It was fantastic to see her so stoked and I'm always wrapped to see people get out what they put in. Bec has decided to race pro and there could be no better way to start than this, great job Bec.

We had a very strong day at the 70.3 with Tim Berkel going 2nd, Berkel came in 5 mins off Joe Gambles but smoked the run and looked to be gliding easliy as he pulled through the feild with the fastest run split of the day to finish 3 back of Joe,

ITU Mooloolaba - Robins wins Oceania Cup , McHugh 5th, Cam Good 18th in World Cup

What a great weekend for Aeromax athletes. Cam Good started the weekend off with his first shot at the World Cup on Sat, Cam did a great job placing 18th and 4th Australian behind Kadelfeld, Sexton and Atkinson. Although by his own admission Cam felt a little flat it's a good sign that he can place well while not quite be on song.

Bec Eveleigh 4th at Canberra Half Ironman

Well done to Rebecca Eveleigh 4th at the Canberra Half ironman or duathlon as it became. Bec's having a great season and has really stepped up her pressure on the better pro's after her 3rd at Port Maq half ironman, which is great considering that Bec works full time for Manly council. Great stuff. Bec will now focus on her race at the New Zeland Ironman in March 2011.

Gold Coast Half Ironman Aeromax Results

Gold Coast Half Ironman Aeromax Results

Gold Coast Half Ironman was run in what could only be called the worst of conditions. Sideways non stop rain and also very cold. The cold certainly took it's toll on our pros, Nicole Ward and Tim Berkel both very slight people and both had bad days going hypothermic, think the conditions caught a lot of people off guard including Gilesy who spent 6 hours freezing with little clothing - think I would rather have been on the course, haha.

Ironman Australia report

So Ironman Australia was a day of mixed fortune for us. As you know by now Tim did not win, simply put there was a split in the swim that left Tim high and dry 90 seconds back after the swim. That gap grew to a 7min cavern on the bike which often happens when you miss the front group - it's hard to make time alone. Still he took off on the marathon starting with a 7 mins deficit to make up and by about 14km's that was down to under 5 mins - possibly a little too fast and that had Tim crack heavily at about 28km's - as always a gutsy effort that left Tim in 6th even after struggling to run.
