Ali Fitch 5th In Ironman Wisconsin comeback
Ali raced Ironman Wisconsin USA last night our time in her comeback race after the same hip sugery that sidelined Brad K. This race was basically a tester for the hip and the hip came through with flying colors so we can look forward to seeing a fully fit Ali Fitch on the line for Busselton Ironman in December. Ali will now go to Hawaii to help her Hubby Stuart prepare for the Hawaiian Ironman.

Aeromax Results @ Yeppoon / Everyone in top 5
We had people make the journey up to race Yeppoon for what was to be a hot, windy race. Tim Berkel had a solid day after a break from training to watch the Tour De France in Europe, I don't think Tim expected to be challenging for the win so that came as a very positive suprise at this stage of the game - Tim Tussled for the win with Matt White and finshed 14 seconds behind Matt.

Aeromax @ Yeppoon this weekend
We have a strong squad of athletes racing this weekend at Yeppoon Half Ironman. Nicole Ward is in awesome form as is Mitch Robbins and Tim Reed. Tim Berkel will also toe the line as well as a strong age group contingent with Bern Ward in very strong form as well as age group contender Bec Eveleigh. Good luck to Chrsite Sym in her first race after making the move from adventure sport. Should be a good day for the crew to make the furr fly.

NICOLE WARD 2ND AT IRONMAN JAPAN 09'
Nicole Ward put in a stella performance in Japan by achieving her first Ironman podium finish after placing second overall after a hard fight with Nicole Klinger for the win in the closing km's. Cole came out of the water about a minute adrift of Hillary Bicscay and Maki Nishiuchi and then kept the gap to around 5mins during the bike and then caught the chase group towards the end of the bike.

Anthony Golle and Tim Reed both qualify for Hawaii @ Kona 70.3
Both Tim Reed and Anthony Golle qualified for the Hawaiian Ironman World Championships today in Kona at the 70.3. Anthony finished 6th in his Age Cat, and Tim won the 18-24 cat easily and finished 9th overall in the process including pro's. We had 2 guys go over to race and both qualifed, that's a good hit rate.
Well done fella's.

Nicole Ward 3rd @ Busselton Half Ironman
Last week I headed over to one of my favourite race destinations in Busselton, Western Australia. Busselton is just 3 hours south of Perth and is a stunning location, with crystal clear blue waters and flat fast roads so you couldn’t ask for much more. I arrived there on Thursday lunch time which gave me plenty of time to de-stress from work and prepare myself for the task at hand.

Brian McGovern wins in Ironman China
Brian McGovern is the head of the Commonwealth Bank Singapore. Brian and I have worked on his First Ironman assault - Ironman China 09'since last October. Juggling a full family life and heading up a bank is no mean feat on it's on let alone taking on Ironman as well. Brian yesterday won the 50-54 age Cat and also finished 28th male overall, he has also taken his spot to Kona. The race was run in conditions that can only be described as hellish, heat over 45c and nasty head winds made for a day that only the strong survived.

Brett Morgan goes for Worlds - read his story
Bretto went under 2 hours in Sydney so with a good race in Perth he's got a very good shot at a spot on the team. Well done mate.

Ironman New Zealand update
A quick update of what happened with our small crew at New Zealand last weekend. Nicole Ward had a strong day with 7th place overall in the women's and has cemented her place as a strong pro racer. Hayden Armstrong strained his back badly 3 days before the race which was a bummer because he was in great form, still he managed 5th place in the 25-29 cat and qualifed for Hawaii - he has also qualified for the 70.3 worlds in Florida so it's going to be a big year for Hayden. Reno Herington was in great form and was actually riding with Hayden and as they went through some road works Reno who is coached by Will -blew his tyre to bits which is a real bummer because he went on to run a 3:18 - makes you wonder what could have been, still it's there so well done mate. Donna Richards went a 12:12 on the course and Kara Hobbs who is coached by Stew had a great race going 12:54 on very -very limited training. Bern Ward went a 10:05 on the course, Haven't spoken to anyone other than Hayden- hence the lack of details right now.

Geelong Half Ironman
We had a only 5 athletes make the trek to Geelong for the Half Ironman and by all reports it is now a very big race and the field was super strong for both male and female. Our 5 all raced well. Bec Eveleigh again had a great race on her march towards Ironman winning the 30-34 age cat easily and finishing right up there overall as well. Hayden Armstrong is on his final weeks for Ironman New Zealand and had a great day finishing 3rd in the 25-29 cat and his goal of getting a Hawaii spot in New Zealand is looking very good, Hayden lives in Tasmania.

Jan Otto / NTID
Just a welcome to Jan Otto who is a Swiss junior national team athlete. Jan is living with Grant and Mel for 6 months and is racing our national junior series as part of the North coast NTID team under Grant. Jan will train on programme and train face to face with Grant and Stew Crowley in Lennox. The talent ID programme is a Australian sports commission / TA initiative whereby we bring talented athletes from other sports to fast track to elite level for draft legal triathlon events. Paige Single has a run background and Bridget Barnes is from surf, both girls are progressing well.

Richard Hobson @ Canberra Half Ironman
Like to just make a quick callout to Richard Hobson for his Canberra half Ironman effort. Hobbo slayed all comers is the 40-44 age cat and he won by a staggering 9 minutes. Watch out for Hobbo at Port Maq Ironman this year as he is having a great season.

BERKEL WINS
Well what a day. Not much for me to say as I'm sure most people have seen that Tim won the race in 8:07. Tim showed maturity beyond his years in controlling and attack by Jason Shortis at the 35km mark of the marathon and sat back, ate, drank, didn't panic and lauched an attack of his own dropping it down to 3:20 km's to win by 4mins. The scary thing is he still has a lot of improvement left in him and this is just the beggining. One of Tims weapons is his attention and openess to efficiency and techinical development and that is a lesson for the whole crew I think. Nicole Ward again raced solidly and came away with another improvement with a 5th place finish overall with a 9:43, Cole is still very much under development and we can look forward to more from her as well. To get 2 of our athletes into the top 5 overall was a big buzz for us all considering Ali Fitch is having a break and we lost Bec Eveleigh to the flu in race week.

Port Macqurie Half Ironman (70.3) - 3 athletes in top 5 overall
A smaller band of athletes raced Port Mac as Busselton Ironman is just around the courner so some athletes used it for training and other opted to leave it out this year.
