Lennox Head under 12 Triathlon / Merrick Giles gets his first win
Following in the footsteps of his hero and mentor (Tim Berkel), 8 year old Merrick Giles had his first triathlon win at the Lennox Head under 12 triathlon. Merrick has been having a great season and has lowered his aquathon 5km time from 32 mins to 23 mins in 6 weeks and has all the adults running scared. In a crack-up twist he maintains that kicking Berkel's arse is his prime motivation - "Go woonsy"!!!
Seriously Jo Scotcher did a fantastic job of putting on a great race for the kids and it was very well supported by the local community.
